Free hearing screening program launches in Girne

Girne Municipality has announced the launch of a free hearing screening program for residents of the region. The initiative is implemented by the Social Affairs Department of the municipality with the participation of audiologist Suzan Dayı and aims at the early detection of hearing problems among citizens.
According to the municipality's statement, screenings will be conducted every Thursday from 10:00 to 16:00 in different areas of the district. During the appointment, residents will be able to undergo a preliminary hearing check and, if necessary, will be referred to specialized medical institutions for further diagnosis and treatment.
The first stage of the program will take place today at the Ozanköy village administration. Following this, testing will be held on May 14 in Beylerbeyi, May 21 in Zeytinlik, June 4 at the Edremit village administration, and June 11 at the Girne Municipality building.
The municipality emphasized that the project is aimed at increasing the level of prevention and early detection of hearing loss, especially among the elderly and citizens who have not previously undergone such examinations. Authorities also noted the importance of timely diagnosis to prevent health deterioration and improve quality of life.
To participate in the program, preliminary registration is required by calling 0392 650 01 00. Residents can obtain additional information via internal extensions 1047 and 1041.
