Teenager detained in connection with brazen robbery in Limassol

Limassol police have detained a 17-year-old teenager on suspicion of involvement in a case of conspiracy to commit a serious crime and robbery of a motorcyclist.

The incident occurred around 1 a.m. According to the two 30-year-old men, they were riding a motorcycle in one of the Limassol districts when their path was suddenly blocked by an unknown car. Three masked individuals got out of the car and attacked the men.

Fearing for their safety, the victims tried to flee. Taking advantage of the situation, the assailants stole the motorcycle and fled the scene.

Officers from the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department were dispatched to the scene, where they conducted an inspection and launched an investigation. A few hours later, the stolen motorcycle was found in one of the city’s parks.

During operational measures, police identified one of the suspected participants in the attack. In the afternoon, a 17-year-old teenager was arrested after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Limassol District Court, where the issue of his remand in custody pending the investigation will be considered.

The investigation into the case is ongoing, and police are working to identify the remaining participants in the attack.
