Suspicious behavior gave away two men with drugs in Lefkoşa
In Lefkoşa, police officers detained two people during a routine street patrol on suspicion of possessing prohibited substances. The officers noticed the men’s suspicious behavior, after which a decision was made to carry out a personal search. As a result of the check, drugs were found on the detainees.
Both men, aged 28, were arrested and taken to court for a preventive measure to be selected. At the hearing, the investigation said that there was a need for a detailed check of the channels through which the prohibited substances were brought onto the island, as well as to identify the people involved in their distribution. The court granted the police request and extended the detainees’ remand by three days to allow further investigation.
